I’ve been in workshops when you feel drained or lost, and it’s hard to come up with ideas and motivation to shoot. With Anne, it was the opposite : I couldn’t wait to get out, look, take pictures, ideas kept bouncing in my head. The workshop was a month long, with group meetings each week to go over the past week’s assignment, present and critique each other’s work. In between the group cessions there were also weekly one-on-one, which I used to get help on some work in progress. Anne shared lots of online material, with text and videos to watch as support for the ongoing course. I remember thinking, wow, 2hrs each week plus a short one-on-one, not sure how much we can accomplish in that time. Well, in short: a huge amount! This is due in large part to Anne’s wonderful personality. She knows when to push, when to coax, encourage and listen. Not only a great photographer, but a great teacher.
